Parking Brake Inspection

Kia Soul. Parking brake - hand type

Check the parking brake travel by counting the number of audible clicks while fully applying it from the released position. Also, the parking brake alone must reliably hold the vehicle on a sufficiently steep grade. If the travel is more or less than specified, have the system serviced at a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.

Travel: 5 to 7 clicks at 20 kg (44 lb, 196 N) of force.
