If the Engine Does Not Start
If the engine does not crank or cranks slowly
1. Check the battery connections to make sure they are clean and tight.
2. Turn on the interior light. If the light dims or goes out while the starter is operating, the battery is discharged.
3. Check the starter connections to make sure they are securely tightened.
4. Do not push or pull the vehicle to start it. Refer to the instructions for "Jump Starting" on page 7-05.
WARNING
If the engine does not start, do not push or pull the vehicle to start it. This may cause a collision or other damage. In addition, pushing or pulling to start may overload the catalytic converter and create a fire hazard.
If the Engine Cranks Normally but Does Not Start
1. Check the fuel level.
2. With the ignition key in the LOCK position, check all connectors on the ignition coils and spark plugs. Reconnect anything that is disconnected or loose.
3. Inspect the fuel lines in the engine compartment.
4. If the engine still does not start, contact a professional repair shop. Kia recommends contacting an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.
