Installing a child seat
Child seat anchorages
Child seat anchorages are provided in the vehicle. The illustration shows the location of the anchorages.
To install a child seat on a seat equipped with a head restraint, the head restraint must be removed. Always follow the instructions supplied with the child seat.
Location of child seat anchorages
When installing a child seat equipped with a top tether strap, use the indicated tether anchorage locations.

WARNING
Always attach the top tether strap to the correct anchorage: Attaching the strap to the wrong anchorage is dangerous. In a crash, the top tether strap may come off the anchorage and weaken the child seat attachment. Any movement of the child seat may cause injury or death to the child.
Always remove the head restraint before installing a child seat: Installing a child seat without removing the head restraint is dangerous. The child seat may not be installed correctly and, in a collision, may cause injury or death to the child.

After removing the child seat from the vehicle, always reinstall the head restraint and adjust it to the correct position: Driving with the head restraint removed is dangerous, because during sudden braking or a collision the occupant's head will not be supported, which may result in serious or fatal injury.
See "Headrests" on page 2-12.
Using the seat belt
When installing a child seat, follow the installation instructions supplied with the product.
In addition, if the seat is equipped with a head restraint, remove it.
Using the ISOFIX anchorages
WARNING
When using child seats, follow the manufacturer's recommendations: An unsecured child seat is hazardous. In a sudden stop or collision, it may move and cause serious injury or death to the child or other occupants. Make sure every child seat is correctly secured according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Make sure the child seat is correctly secured: An incorrectly secured child seat is dangerous.
During sudden braking or a collision, the child seat may strike occupants and cause serious injury. When the child seat is not in use, remove it from the vehicle, store it in the luggage compartment, or at least make sure it is correctly secured to the ISOFIX anchorages.
Make sure no seat belts or other objects are left near the ISOFIX anchorages: Failing to follow the child seat manufacturer's instructions during installation is dangerous. If a seat belt or other object prevents the child seat from being correctly secured to the ISOFIX anchorages, the child seat may move during sudden braking or a collision and cause serious injury or death to the child or other occupants. Make sure no seat belts or other objects are left near the ISOFIX anchorages. Always follow the child seat manufacturer's instructions.

4. If the seat is equipped with a head restraint, remove it.
See "Headrests" on page 2-12.
5. Install the child seat on the outer rear seat using the ISOFIX anchorages, following the child seat manufacturer's recommendations.
