Important safety notes

WARNING

Keep storage compartments closed when transporting objects in them. Do not place heavy objects in the luggage nets.

Otherwise, vehicle occupants could be injured by objects thrown forward in the event of

  • heavy braking
  • sudden change of direction
  • an accident

Do not transport fragile or sharp objects in the luggage net.

Front storage compartments

Glove box

  • Opening: pull handle 1 and lower cover 2.
  • Closing: raise cover 2 until it locks.

A pen holder is located at the top of the glove box cover.

Glasses case

  • Opening: press at marking 1.

Storage compartment in the center console

  • Opening: briefly press the cover at marking 1.
Depending on vehicle equipment, the closed storage compartment in the center console is replaced

Storage compartment in front of the armrest (vehicles with automatic transmission)

  • Opening: briefly press the cover at marking 1.

Storage compartment/phone storage compartment under the armrest

  • Opening: on vehicles with an adjustable armrest, make sure the armrest is in the rear position.
  • Press button 1 and raise the armrest.
Depending on vehicle equipment, the storage compartment may contain a USB port and an AUX IN jack or a media interface. A media interface is a universal interface for portable audio devices, such as iPod® and MP3 players (see the separate operator's manual for the audio system or COMAND Online).

Storage compartment under the driver's and front passenger seats

WARNING

The maximum permissible load of the storage compartment is 1.2 kg. Otherwise, objects being transported may be thrown out of the storage compartment, for example in the event of sudden changes of direction or heavy braking, and injure you or other people.

  • Opening: pull handle 1 upward and fold cover 2 forward.
On vehicles equipped with a fire extinguisher, the storage compartment under the driver's seat is replaced by a fire extinguisher.

Rear storage compartments

  • Opening: lower storage compartment 1 by gripping its upper edge.
Depending on equipment, an open storage compartment may be located above the storage compartment

Folding shelf

WARNING

Make sure the folding shelves are closed while driving. Otherwise, you could be injured by the folding shelves or by objects placed on them in the event of hard braking, sudden changes of direction or an accident.

The maximum permitted load of the folding shelf is 2 kg.

Tablette rabattable

  • Raising: raise shelf 1 in the direction of the arrow until it reaches the desired position.
  • Lowering: press shelf 1 down until it touches the backrest.
