In the event of a power failure, the selector lever cannot be moved out of position P. The key cannot be removed from the ignition lock.
If the battery is discharged, jump-start the vehicle using jumper cables 244.
If the battery is not the cause of the fault, release the selector lever and remove the key from the ignition lock.
Releasing the selector lever
- Apply the parking brake

- Detach the selector lever trim at the rear of the centre console, fold it upwards and turn it to the left.

- Take the special tool located on the inside of the glove box cover.

- Insert it as far as it will go into the opening and move the selector lever out of position P or N. If the selector lever is returned to position P or N again, it will lock in that position again. Have a workshop correct the cause of the power failure.
- Refit the lever trim on the centre console and fasten it.
Remove the key from the ignition switch
- Take the special tool located on the inside of the glove box cover.

- Insert the special tool as far as it will go into the opening below the ignition lock and turn it slightly.

- Turn the special tool forwards and remove the key from the ignition lock. Several attempts may be needed to remove the key.
