Maintenance

Interior trim care

~3min read

A well-maintained vehicle lasts longer. It is therefore recommended that you clean the interior of the vehicle regularly.

A stain must always be treated quickly.

Whatever the nature of the stain, use cold (or lukewarm) soapy water based on natural soap.

The use of detergents (washing-up liquid, powder products, alcohol-based products...) is to be avoided.

Use a soft cloth. Rinse and absorb the excess.

For any interior maintenance advice and/or unsatisfactory results, consult the Brand Representative.

Instrument panel windows

(e.g. dashboard, clock, outside temperature display, radio display...) Use a soft cloth or cotton wool.

If this is not sufficient, use a soft cloth (or cotton wool) lightly dampened with soapy water, then rinse with a soft or damp cotton cloth.

Finish by gently wiping with a dry, soft cloth.

The use of alcohol-based products is to be avoided.

Seat belts

They must be kept clean.

Use either the products selected by our technical departments (Brand shop) or lukewarm soapy water with a sponge, and dry with a dry cloth.

The use of detergents or dyes is to be avoided.

Fabrics (seats, door trim...)

For vehicles fitted with removable seat covers, refer to the "Seat covers" section in chapter 4.

Vacuum fabrics regularly.

Liquid stain

Use soapy water.

Blot or lightly dab (never rub) with a soft cloth, rinse and absorb the excess.

Solid or paste stain

Carefully remove any excess solid or paste-like material immediately with a spatula (working from the edges towards the centre to avoid spreading the stain).

Clean as for a liquid stain.

Special case of sweets and chewing gum

Place an ice cube on the stain to harden it, then proceed as for a solid stain.

Removing/refitting removable original equipment in the vehicle

If you need to remove removable equipment to clean the passenger compartment (for example floor mats), always make sure you refit it correctly and in the right position (the driver's floor mat must be refitted on the driver's side...) and secure it using the fixings supplied with the equipment (for example, the driver's floor mat must always be secured using the pre-installed fixing elements).

In all cases, with the vehicle stationary, check that nothing can interfere with driving (obstruction in the pedal travel, heel trapped by the floor mat...).

What you must not do

Placing objects such as air fresheners or perfume bottles at the air vents is strongly discouraged, as they could damage the dashboard trim.

The use of high-pressure cleaning or spraying equipment inside the passenger compartment is strongly discouraged: if precautions are not taken, it could, among other things, affect the proper operation of the electrical or electronic components fitted to the vehicle.
