REPLACING THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT

Airbag control units are sold locked to prevent any risk of accidental deployment (all firing lines are inhibited). This mode is indicated by the warning light on the instrument panel lighting up.

When replacing an airbag control unit, follow this procedure:

  • Make sure the ignition is off.

  • Replace the control unit.

  • Carry out a check with the XR25 diagnostic tool.

  • Unlock the control unit using command G81*, only if the tester reports no fault.
