Air conditioning: information and usage advice

~1min read
Usage tips

In some cases (air conditioning off, air recirculation activated, fan speed zero or low, etc.) you may notice condensation forming on the windows and windscreen of the vehicle.

If the windows fog up, use the "clear view" function to clear them, then use air conditioning in automatic mode to prevent fogging. If fogging persists, use the FAST program.

Note

Water under the vehicle.

After prolonged use of the air conditioning, it is normal to find water under the vehicle, coming from condensation.

Fuel economy

It is normal to notice an increase in fuel consumption (especially in urban driving) while the air conditioning is in use.

On vehicles equipped with air conditioning without automatic mode, switch the system off when it is no longer needed.

Tips for minimizing fuel consumption and helping to protect the environment: drive with the vents open and the windows closed.

If the vehicle has been parked in extreme heat or direct sunlight, ventilate it for a few minutes to expel the hot air before starting.

Maintenance

Refer to your vehicle's service document for inspection intervals.

Operating faults

In general, if a fault occurs, consult a brand representative:

  • reduced efficiency of defrosting, demisting or air conditioning. This may be caused by a clogged cabin filter cartridge;
  • no cold air produced.

Check that the controls are correctly set and that the fuses are in good condition. Otherwise, switch off the system.

pas le circuit deDo not open the refrigerant circuit. The refrigerant is harmful to the eyes and skin.
