Front bonnet
Replacing this part is a basic operation for a front impact.
Additional information on surrounding parts or trim removal is covered in their respective chapters.
NOTE: Removal and refitting operations present no particular difficulty; only the adjustment method is given below. All clearances are given in chapter 40A-E.

1. FITTING THE COMPONENT
REMINDER: Before final refitting, the seal between the body and the bonnet hinges must be redone using sealing compound (refer to Technical Note 396A).
Bring all fixings close without tightening.
Fit all components to the bonnet.
Remove the bonnet catch and safety hook before carrying out adjustments.

Adjustment procedure

It is recommended to carry out adjustments of zones 1 and 2 (see "introduction") at the upper hinge fixing screws (A).

If the adjustment range at the screws (A) is not sufficient, the lower bonnet stay screws (B) can also be adjusted, but this requires removing the front wing.
Check the adjustments and tighten in position.

Fit the latch pin (C) and the safety catch (D).
Bump-stop removal and latch closing force adjustment are made with the latch pin and the lock (C).
Check the adjustment and operation of the bonnet, then tighten in position.
WARNING: During the operation, also check the correct position and operation of the safety catch (D), then tighten in position.
It is essential to check that the safety catch works correctly after adjusting the bonnet and its lock.
WARNING: Make sure the wire of the ring is centred and parallel to the locking finger (see diagram below).

REMINDER: In the closed position the bonnet must rest on the stops (E).
