Middle pillar reinforcement

This part may be partially replaced only following cuts (a) and (b): operation complementary to complete pillar replacement for a side collision.

In the method described below, you will only find the descriptions and joins specific to the part concerned.

Information on related parts is covered in their respective sections (see contents).

Note: If the spot welds cannot be made with the spot welder, they may be replaced with plug welds.

Note: It is possible to make cut (a) in area (X1) or (X2) depending on version. REMINDER

The cut position must not be made on a slotted hole.

For a partial replacement linked to middle pillar replacement, the cuts must be offset.

Note: It is possible to make cut (b) along the full length of the sill reinforcement. Note: The cut position must not be made on a slotted hole.

For a partial replacement linked to middle pillar replacement, the cuts must be offset.

Note: It is essential to replace the swelling inserts (see method described in chapter 40A-L).
