CLEARING

RZ001: Fault memory.

This command clears the faults stored by the control unit.

ACTIVATION

AC003: Front left wheel solenoid valves.

AC004: Front right wheel solenoid valves.

AC005: Rear left wheel solenoid valves.

AC006: Rear right wheel solenoid valves.

These commands test the solenoid valves of each wheel.

Wheel solenoid valve control for hydraulic checks: Raise the vehicle so the wheels can turn, and check that they turn freely.

Keep the brake pedal pressed to stop the wheel under test from turning when it is turned by hand (do not brake so hard that the brake releases).

Select and confirm the command for the wheel concerned ("Front left wheel solenoid valves", ...). Apply a turning force to the wheel by hand; 5 release/lock cycles must be felt on the wheel.

AC016: Pump motor test.

This command tests the control circuit of the pump motor.

Select command AC016 "Pump motor test".

The pump motor must be heard running for 5 seconds.

AC187: Brake light activation relay.

This command tests brake light activation by the ESP during understeer control with strong deceleration.

AC195: Vehicle speed information.

This command generates a speed other than 0 km/h on the ECU wired vehicle speed output (pin 23) for the consumers of this information (xenon lights, radio, sunroof).

NOTE: This command has no visible effect on the speedometer needle on the instrument panel.

  • Xenon headlamps: Switch on the dipped beam and use command AC195. A slight variation in the height of the light beam should be observed. (Depending on vehicle speed, the beam height is corrected to improve visibility.)
  • Radio: Switch on the radio and check that the "volume adjustment according to speed" function is active.

Use command AC195. During the command, the sound volume should be seen to rise and then fall.

  • Sunroof: This command has no visible effect on the sunroof. This command changes the trigger threshold of the anti-pinch system (the force exerted by the sunroof when closing varies with vehicle speed due to aerodynamic loads).

AC196: Hazard warning light request.

This command sends a request to the BCM to switch on the hazard warning lights to test their operation in an emergency braking situation (depending on BCM configuration).

SPECIFIC COMMANDS

SC001: Target tooth ring check.

This command checks the integrity of the target teeth for each wheel.

Select command SC001 "TONE WHEEL TOOTH CHECK".

The test result must show 48 teeth.

SC006: Hydraulic unit and brake circuit bleeding.

Use this command only if an abnormal increase in brake pedal travel is noticed during a road test with ABS control. (The system must have been bled beforehand using the conventional method.)

Select command SC006 "BLEEDING OF HYDRAULIC UNIT AND BRAKE CIRCUIT" and follow the instructions displayed by the diagnostic tool.
