VP004 VEHICLE PARAMETERS
Engine torque index configuration + braking definition
Select command VP004 on the diagnostic tool. (Make sure the selected variants exactly match the vehicle definition.)
VP006 LAST APV SERVICE DATE WRITING:
Each time the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) system is serviced in the workshop, the service date must be entered.

Enter the service date using the tool keypad.
VP007 ODOMETER INDEX
The BOSCH ESP 8.0 control unit with "speedometer function" supplies the vehicle speed signal to all users of this information in the vehicle (instrument panel, engine management, etc.).
This vehicle speed signal replaces the one supplied by the speed sensor located on the gearbox.
The ESP control unit calculates vehicle speed from the wheel speeds and the rolling circumference of the tyres fitted to the vehicle.
Note: Vehicle speed is supplied by hardwire (pin 33) to the COSLAD (Xenon lamp control unit), the radio and the electric sunroof, and over the multiplexed network to the other control units. The tyre rolling circumference must be programmed into the memory of a new control unit. This is done by entering an index using the diagnostic tool, command VP007 "Odometer index".
After entering the index using command VP007, erase the control unit memory, then switch off the ignition.
Using parameter PR030, check that the entered index has been taken into account.
VP021 AUTOMATIC BRAKE LIGHT ACTIVATION INHIBIT
Use this command only in countries where legislation prohibits automatic activation of the brake lights without pedal input (no brake light control with ESP intervention).
VP022 AUTOMATIC BRAKE LIGHT ACTIVATION ENABLE
This command restores automatic activation of the brake lights during ESP intervention, following inhibition by command VP021.
VP023 ESP AUTOMATIC RECONNECTION THRESHOLD
If the PR064 value differs from 50 km/h, use this command to set the ESP automatic reconnection threshold, which is set to 50 km/h.
