DF020 PRESENT SPEEDOMETER INDEX PROGRAMMING

INSTRUCTIONS

Special notes : Nothing to report.

The BOSCH ESP 8.0 control unit with "speedometer function" supplies the vehicle speed signal to all users of this information in the vehicle (instrument panel, engine management, etc.).

This vehicle speed signal replaces the one supplied by the speed sensor located on the gearbox.

The ESP control unit calculates vehicle speed from the wheel speeds and the rolling circumference of the tyres fitted to the vehicle.

Note: Vehicle speed is supplied by hardwire (pin 33) to the COSLAD (Xenon headlamp control unit), to the radio and to the electric sunroof, and via the multiplexed network to the other control units.

The tyre rolling circumference must be programmed into the memory of a new control unit. This is done by entering an index using the diagnostic tool, command VP007 "Odometer index".

After entering the index using command VP007, erase the control unit memory, then switch off the ignition.

Check with parameter PR030 that the entered gear ratio is correctly taken into account.

If the fault persists, contact your techline.
