Head Restraints

~1min read

The front and rear seats of the vehicle are equipped with adjustable head restraints. Head restraints provide comfort for passengers but, more importantly, they are designed to protect occupants from whiplash and other neck and spinal injuries in a collision, especially in a rear-end impact.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of serious injury or death in an accident, observe the following precautions when adjusting head restraints:

  • Always properly adjust the head restraints for all occupants BEFORE starting the vehicle.
  • NEVER allow anyone to ride in a seat with the headrests removed.
  • Adjust the head restraints so that the center of the head restraints is at the same height as the top of your eyes.
  • NEVER adjust the driver's seat head restraint position while the vehicle is moving.
  • Adjust the head restraint as close as possible to the occupant's head. Do not use a seat cushion that keeps the body away from the seatback.
  • Make sure the head restraint is locked in the desired position after adjusting it.

NOTICE

To avoid damage, NEVER strike or pull on the head restraints.
