WARNING

■ When starting the engine Before starting the engine, sit in the driver's seat. Never depress the accelerator pedal when starting the engine.

Otherwise, an accident may occur, resulting in serious or fatal injury.

■ Caution while driving Do not turn the key to "LOCK" in the ignition switch while driving. In an emergency, if it is necessary to stop the engine while the vehicle is moving, turn the key in the ignition switch to "ACC" only to stop the engine. Stopping the engine while driving may cause an accident.

■ To prevent battery discharge Do not leave the key in the ignition switch in "ACC" or "ON" for extended periods when the engine is off.

■ When starting the engine

  • Do not crank the engine for more than 30 seconds at a time. This may overheat the starter motor and the electrical system.
  • Do not run the engine at high speed when the engine is cold.
  • If the engine has difficulty starting or stalls frequently, have it checked immediately by any Toyota dealer or repairer, or another suitably qualified and equipped professional.
