GENERAL INFORMATION

The switch is illuminated by a light guide, with only one incandescent bulb. To replace the bulb, remove the fan switch. Remove the bulb from the socket using pliers. Starting from mid-1997 production, the bulb was replaced with an LED. The LED is not replaceable. REMOVAL

PROCEDURE

1. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Removal, Installation and Coding.

2. Remove the switch trim (A).

3. Unscrew the 4 mounting screws (B) of the control unit. Note the

CAUTION

to the position of the clips (C) for subsequent assembly.

4. Remove the front center console (D). Refer to Lower Center Console Removal and Installation.

5. Disconnect the control unit cables. Refer to Heater Control Cable Removal and Installation. INSTALLATION

6. Secure the cables to the control unit and adjust them. Refer to Heater Control Cable Removal and Installation.

7. Install the front center console, refer to Fuses.

8. Secure the heater control to the center of the instrument panel. Torque: 5 N·m.

9. Install the switch trim panel.

10. Install the radio, refer to Radio Removal, Installation and Coding.
