The main muffler can be replaced independently of other system components. A chain-type pipe cutter, for example HAZET, can be used to separate the pipe.

PROCEDURE
1. Raise and support the vehicle on stands.
2. Measure the length (A) of the pipe section on the new muffler. Refer to the accompanying illustration.

3. Transfer the measured dimension (A) to the installed main muffler. Cut the pipe at the marked location and round off the sharp edges.

4. Connect the new muffler using a clamp (arrow in the illustration) (part). The joint must be centered in the clamp.
