Oxygen Sensor Removal and Installation

* When applying underbody anti-corrosion coating, the oxygen sensor must be covered.

REMOVAL
1. Remove the cover above the injectors. Refer to Intake Manifold Removal and Installation.
2. Raise and support the vehicle on stands.
3. Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connectors. Refer to the accompanying illustration.

4. Release the cable clamp.
5. Unscrew the oxygen sensors from the exhaust manifold. To prevent wire damage, wind the wires up.

INSTALLATION

* Do not clean the oxygen sensors, in particular with sandpaper.

1. Spray the sensor threads with high-temperature special grease "Antiseize".

* If the sensor is installed without high-temperature grease coating, it will become impossible to unscrew the thread over time.

2. Screw the oxygen sensor into the exhaust manifold and tighten to a torque of 30 N·m.
3. Connect the sensor electrical connector. The cable must be routed so that it does not chafe against the muffler.
4. Install the engine cover.
