Integrated Owner's Manual in the vehicle

The integrated Owner's Manual in the BMW 5 Series (VII generation) can be called up directly in the vehicle and includes quick reference guides, animations, picture search and keyword search. Help on the currently selected function is available via the iDrive system. Thanks to the favorites buttons, frequently used content can be saved, providing an intelligent solution for quick access to vehicle-specific information.

Integrated Owner's Manual in the vehicle

Principle

The Integrated Owner's Manual specifically describes the equipment and functions that are present in the vehicle. It can be displayed on the Control Display.

Components of the Integrated Owner's Manual

General

The Integrated Owner's Manual consists of four parts, which offer different levels of detail or access options.

Quick reference

The quick reference contains important information on operating the vehicle, operating basic vehicle functions, and what to do in the event of a breakdown. This information can also be displayed while driving.

Picture search

Picture search can be used to find information and descriptions based on illustrations. This is useful, for example, if a description is needed for equipment that cannot be named.

Keyword search

Information and descriptions can be searched by entering a search term directly via the index.

Animations

The animations explain the basic functions of selected systems.

Switch directly from the function on the Control Display to the Options menu:

Switching between function and Owner's Manual

On the Control Display, from a function, e.g.

Radio, switch to the Owner's Manual and back between the two displays:

   Select the desired page in the Owner's Manual.

   Press the button again to return to the function last displayed.
5. 5
   Press the button to return to the page of the Owner's Manual last displayed.

To switch permanently between the last displayed function and the last displayed page of the Owner's Manual, repeat steps 4 and 5. New panels are opened each time.

Favorite buttons

General

Entry points in the Owner's Manual can be stored on the favorites buttons, see page 28, and called up directly.

Store

1. Select the desired entry via iDrive:

• "Quick Reference"
• "Picture Search"
• "Keyword Search"
• "Animations"

2. Press and hold the desired favorites button for longer than 2 seconds.

Execute

Press the corresponding button.

The Owner's Manual is displayed directly at the selected entry.
