Alternative oil brands

In exceptional cases, when oil of the recommended brand is not available, a small quantity of oil of another brand may be added between complete oil changes.
The oil container must bear one of the following references:
Petrol engines
► preferably: BMW Longlife 01, BMW Longlife 01 FE or BMW Longlife 04
► alternatively:
BMW Longlife 98 or ACEA A3
Diesel engines
► preferably: BMW Longlife 04
► alternatively:
BMW Longlife 01, BMW Longlife 98 or ACEA A3/B4
