Wheel replacement

Safety measures in case of tire damage and wheel change:

Park the vehicle on a firm surface as far as possible from traffic. Switch on the hazard warning lights. Set the wheels to the straight-ahead position and lock the steering wheel. Apply the parking brake and engage first gear or reverse gear (on vehicles with automatic transmission, position P). Ask all passengers to get out and move them outside the danger zone (for example, behind a guardrail on the highway).

If necessary, place a warning triangle or warning flashlight at an appropriate distance.

Observe the laws of the country you are in.

Change the wheel only on a level, firm and non-slip surface. On a soft or slippery base (snow, ice, ceramic tiles, etc.), the vehicle or jack may slip sideways.

Position the jack on a firm surface.

Do not place anything under the jack, since insufficient height reduces its load capacity.

Do not get under the vehicle when it is raised and do not start the engine. This is dangerous to life. ◄
