It illuminates when the ignition is switched on and goes out shortly after the engine starts.

Turning Off the Engine While Driving

Engine lubrication may be impaired. This may cause engine damage and/or locking of the drive wheels.

1. Depress the clutch pedal.

2. Shift to neutral. Move the shift lever to position N.

3. Move the vehicle out of traffic as quickly as possible without interfering with other vehicles.

4. Turn off the ignition.

When the engine is off, significantly greater effort is required to brake and to turn the steering wheel.

Do not remove the key until the vehicle has come to a stop, as the steering wheel may suddenly lock.

Check the engine oil level before seeking assistance at a service station.
