Fuel Grades for Diesel Engines
Use only diesel fuel conforming to DIN EN 590. The fuel must have a low sulfur content (no more than 50 ppm). Standard fuels with similar characteristics and a biodiesel content by volume (fatty acid methyl ester content as specified in EN14214) of no more than 7% (in accordance with DIN 51628 or an equivalent standard) are permitted.
Do not use marine diesel fuel, heating oil, or diesel fuel partially or fully made from vegetable oil, such as rapeseed oil or biodiesel, Aquazole, or similar water-fuel emulsions. Do not dilute diesel fuel with gasoline.
The flow and filterability of diesel fuel depend on temperature. In low temperatures, refuel with diesel fuel that has guaranteed winter characteristics.
