Single-zone automatic air conditioning

The air conditioning system operates with the engine running.

Single-zone:

it is the overall control of cabin temperature, air distribution and airflow.

The symbols and messages associated with the automatic air conditioning controls appear on the multifunction display.

  1. Automatic operation
  2. Adjusting the temperature
  3. Air distribution adjustment
  4. Air conditioning activation/deactivation
  5. Airflow adjustment
  6. Front demisting - defrosting
  7. Rear demisting - defrosting
  8. Air recirculation - outside air intake
  9. Display
1. Automatic operation

du système.This is the normal operating mode
of the system.

Depending on the comfort level selected, pressing this control, confirmed by the illumination of indicator A, automatically and simultaneously manages all of the following functions:

  • Airflow.
  • Cabin temperature.
  • Air distribution.
  • Air intake.
  • Air conditioning.

It is recommended to keep all air vents open.

A single press on any of the controls, except control 2, switches to manual mode.

Indicator A goes out.

  1. Temperature adjustment
Tournez la commande 2 pour modifi er la température :

Turn control 2 to change the temperature:

  • Clockwise to increase the temperature.
  • Counterclockwise to decrease the temperature.

The desired setting is displayed.

The value shown on the display corresponds to a comfort level and not to a temperature in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit, depending on the unit selected in the display settings.

Setting around the value 21 provides optimal comfort.

However, depending on your needs, a setting between 18 and 24 is common.

When you get into the vehicle, the interior temperature may be much colder (or hotter) than the comfort temperature. There is no need to change the displayed temperature to reach the desired comfort quickly.

Automatic air conditioning control will use its maximum capacity to compensate for the temperature difference as quickly as possible.

Manual control adjustments

It is possible to adjust one or more functions manually, while keeping the other functions in automatic mode.

  • Press any control except the temperature control 2. Indicator A goes off.

Switching to manual mode may cause discomfort (temperature, humidity, odour, fogging) and is not optimal for comfort.

To return to automatic mode, press the «AUTO» . control.
  1. Air distribution adjustment

  • Press controls 3 to change the air flow distribution.

The indicators corresponding to the selected distribution light up:

  • Windscreen and front side windows.
  • Front ventilation (centre and side vents, and soft-diffusion grille if open) and rear.
  • Front and rear footwells.

Simultaneous display of air distribution to the windscreen, side windows, and front and rear ventilation is not possible.

  1. Air conditioning

Air conditioning operates only with the engine running. The blower control (air flow adjustment) must be active to obtain air conditioning.

  • Press control 4. Indicator B lights up.

For air conditioning to be effective, use it with the windows closed.

Switching off the air conditioning may cause discomfort (temperature, humidity, odour, fogging).

  1. Air flow adjustment

  • Turn control 5 to the right to increase or to the left to decrease the air flow.

The air flow level is shown by the segments of the bar graph lighting up progressively in display 9 on the control panel.

To prevent fogging and a decline in cabin air quality, make sure a sufficient air flow is maintained.

Ventilation deactivation

  • Turn control 5 to the left until the air flow stops.
The «OFF» symbol

is displayed on the multifunction screen.

This action switches off the display and the indicators.

It deactivates all system functions, except rear window defrost.

Thermal comfort is no longer controlled (temperature, humidity, odour, fogging).

Avoid driving for too long with the air conditioning deactivated.

To reactivate the air conditioning:
  • Press control 1.
  1. Demisting - Front defrosting
Dans certains cas, le mode «AUTO» peut s’avérer insuffi sant pour désembuer ou

In some cases, "AUTO" mode may be insufficient to demist or defrost the windows (humidity, many passengers, frost).

  • Press control 6 to quickly clear the windows. The indicator lights up.

It controls the temperature and air flow, sets the air intake, and distributes air to the windscreen and front side windows.

A manual adjustment exits the "Demist" mode. It must be cancelled to allow cabin air renewal and demisting.

Once the discomfort has gone, press control 1 to return to "AUTO" mode.

  1. Demisting - Rear defrosting

The heated rear window operates independently of the air conditioning system.

  • Press control 7, with the engine running, to defrost the rear window and the mirrors. The indicator lights up.

It switches off automatically to avoid excessive power consumption, depending on the outside temperature.

It can be interrupted by pressing control 7 again or by switching off the engine.

With Stop & Start, the STOP mode is not available as long as demisting is activated.

However, defrosting will resume the next time the engine is started.

Switch off rear window and exterior mirror defrosting as soon as you judge it unnecessary, as low power consumption reduces fuel consumption.

  1. Outside air intake / Interior air recirculation

This function isolates the cabin from outside odours and fumes.

  • Press control 8 repeatedly to select the air intake mode; the indicator lights up.
It must be cancelled as soon as possible to allow fresh air into the cabin and for demisting.
  • When starting with a cold engine, the air flow will only gradually reach its optimum level in order to avoid blowing too much cold air.
  • When you get into the vehicle after a more or less long period at rest, and the interior temperature is very different from the comfort temperature, there is no need to change the displayed temperature to reach the desired comfort quickly. The system automatically uses its maximum capacity to compensate for the temperature difference as quickly as possible.
  • Water from air conditioner condensation drains through a dedicated outlet; a puddle of water may therefore form under the vehicle when it is parked.
  • Whatever the season, in cool weather air conditioning is useful, as it removes humidity from the air and fogging. Avoid driving for too long with the air conditioning deactivated.
