QUESTION ANSWER SOLUTION
There is a difference in sound quality between the different audio sources (radio, CD, etc.). To ensure optimum listening quality, the audio settings (Volume, Bass, Treble, Ambience, Loudness) can be adjusted for the different audio sources, which may cause audible differences when switching sources (radio, CD...). Check that the audio settings (Volume, Bass, Treble, Ambience, Loudness) are suited to the sources being played. It is advised to set the AUDIO functions (Bass, Treble, Front/Rear balance, Left/Right balance) to the middle position, select the "None" sound ambience, set loudness correction to the "On" position in CD mode and to the "Off" position in radio mode.
The CD is always ejected or is not played by the player. The CD is inserted upside down, is unreadable, contains no audio data, or contains an audio format that the car radio cannot read.

The CD is protected by a copy protection system that is not recognized by the car radio.

  • Check the direction in which the CD is inserted into the player.
  • Check the condition of the CD: it cannot be played if it is too damaged.
  • Check the content if it is a burned CD: see the advice in the “Audio” chapter.
  • The car radio CD player does not play DVDs.
  • Due to insufficient quality, some burned CDs will not be played by the audio system.
The message "USB device error" is displayed on screen. The Bluetooth connection is lost. The device battery charge level may be insufficient. Recharge the device battery.
The USB key is not recognized.

The key may be corrupted.

Reformat the key.
The sound from the CD player is distorted. The CD being used is scratched or of poor quality. Insert good-quality CDs and store them in good conditions.
The car radio settings (bass, treble, ambience) are unsuitable. Set the treble or bass level back to 0, without selecting any ambience.
QUESTION ANSWER SOLUTION
The stored stations do not work (no sound, 87.5 MHz is displayed, etc.). The selected waveband is not the correct one. Press the BAND AST button to find the waveband (AM, FM1, FM2, FMAST) where the stations are stored.
The traffic announcement (TA) indicator is displayed. I am not receiving any traffic information. The radio station does not take part in the regional traffic information network. Switch to a radio station that broadcasts traffic information.
The reception quality of the station being listened to gradually deteriorates, or the stored stations do not work (no sound, 87.5 MHz is displayed, etc.). The vehicle is too far from the transmitter of the station being listened to, or no transmitter is present in the geographic area being travelled through. Activate the RDS function so that the system can check whether a more powerful transmitter is available in the geographic area.
The environment (hill, building, tunnel, underground car park, etc.) blocks reception, including in RDS tracking mode. This phenomenon is normal and does not indicate a fault with the car radio.
The antenna is missing or has been damaged (for example, after going through a car wash or in an underground car park). Have the antenna checked by the CITROËN network.
Sound cuts out for 1 to 2 seconds in radio mode. During this brief sound interruption, the RDS system searches for a possible frequency that provides better reception of the station. Deactivate the RDS function if the phenomenon is too frequent and always occurs on the same route.
Engine off, the car radio switches off after several minutes of use. When the engine is off, the operating time of the car radio depends on the battery charge.

This shutdown is normal: the car radio switches to energy-saving mode and turns off to preserve the vehicle battery.

Start the vehicle engine to increase the battery charge.
The message "audio system overheating" is displayed on screen. To protect the system if the ambient temperature is too high, the radio switches to an automatic thermal protection mode, reducing the volume or stopping CD playback. Switch off the audio system for a few minutes to let it cool down.
