Airbags

Passenger airbag deactivation

If a rearward-facing child seat is installed on the front passenger seat, the passenger airbag must be deactivated.

To do so:

• With the ignition switched off, insert the key into lock position A.
• Turn the key to position "OFF"; the passenger airbag is deactivated.

The passenger airbag deactivation indicator on the instrument cluster illuminates when the ignition is switched on.

Returning the passenger airbag to normal operation

Do not forget to reactivate the function.

To do so:

• With the ignition switched off, insert the key into lock position A.
• Turn the key to the "ON" position; the airbag is activated.

The warning lamp in the instrument cluster lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on.

Note: Wearing the seat belt is mandatory.

Never deactivate the passenger airbag while the front passenger seat is occupied (exception: installing a rear-facing child seat).

Passenger airbag OFF

Observe the regulations on the label on the side of the passenger sun visor.

If a child seat facing rearward is installed on the front passenger seat, the passenger airbag must be deactivated.

Otherwise, there is a risk that the child will be seriously injured or even killed by the deploying airbag.
