Automatic rear climate control

~3min read

Rear passengers in the Citroën C6 (Gen 1) also enjoy a high level of comfort thanks to the separate automatic climate control. Airflow and distribution can be controlled with a simple button press, and an automatic function ensures even ventilation. Control is via the controls in the rear, and the airflow is shown by LED indicators. In addition, the air distribution can be directed to the head, the feet or both. The function is only active when the front air conditioning is switched on. A special feature: when rear ventilation is deactivated, air is directed to the storage compartment under the armrest. This maintains comfort even in changing conditions.

Activation

Pressing one of the A buttons activates automatic mode, which controls the airflow and distribution of the rear climate control automatically and simultaneously.

The indicator light of button A comes on.

It is recommended to keep both ventilation outlets open.

Deactivation

Pressing one of the buttons B, C or D deactivates the automatic function of the rear climate control.

The indicator light of button A goes out.

Note: If the front air conditioning is switched off (function deactivated in the "Air conditioning" menu or with rotary dial 4 for airflow), the rear climate control is not available.

Airflow adjustment

Pressing buttons B or D increases or decreases the rear climate control airflow.

The number of illuminated segments forming the airflow symbol (fan between buttons B and D) indicates the output level.

To deactivate the rear climate control airflow and distribution, press button D repeatedly until all segments are off.

Head/feet distribution

Press button C repeatedly to change the air distribution.

Three distributions are possible:

  • Occupants' heads.
  • Occupants' feet.
  • Occupants' heads and feet.

The displayed arrow indicates the manually set air distribution.

No arrow is displayed in "AUTO" mode.

Airflow adjustment for the storage compartment under the front centre armrest

If the rear airflow is set to maximum by pressing control B and the distribution to the occupants' heads is selected by pressing C, and the rear ventilation outlets are closed, maximum airflow is set in the storage compartment under the armrest.

The temperature of the air distributed to the rear depends on the temperature set at the front. The volume and distribution of the air distributed to the rear are influenced by the settings made for the front.

The automatic rear air conditioning in the Citroën C6 1st Gen provides individual comfort for the rear seats as well. Thanks to separate control of airflow and distribution, the Citroën C6 2005-2012 offers a well-designed solution for all passengers.

The strength of this system is especially evident on long journeys or during hot summer months: every passenger can rely on an optimal interior climate. Here, the Citroën C6 1st Gen reinforces its premium standard.
