Checks

Checks

~3min read

Unless otherwise specified, check components in accordance with the manufacturer's maintenance schedule and according to the engine fitted to the vehicle.

This check can be carried out at an authorised Dacia dealer or specialist workshop.

12 V battery

The battery is maintenance-free.

Nevertheless, regularly check that the terminals are clean and tight.

Before working on the 12 V battery, read the relevant section for safety precautions.

Versions fitted with the Stop & Start system have a 12 V lead-acid battery with special technology and specifications. This battery must only be replaced at an authorised Dacia dealer or specialist workshop.

Air filter and cabin filter

Replacement intervals for these parts
are given in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.

Depending on external conditions (dusty atmosphere, etc.) and vehicle use (city driving, etc.), replace the filters twice as often.

A dirty cabin filter can reduce air conditioning efficiency and cause unpleasant odours.

Oil filter

Replace the oil filter at every
engine oil change.

Replacement intervals for this part are given in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.

Particulate filter (diesel)

The particulate filter starting to load
is indicated by this warning lamp flashing briefly and a message appearing in the multifunction display.

As soon as road conditions allow, regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of at least 60 km/h until the warning lamp goes out.

If the warning lamp stays on, the additive level is low.

For more information on checking fluid levels, see the relevant section.

In a new vehicle, the first particulate filter regeneration cycles may produce a “burnt” smell, which is completely normal. After a long drive at low speed or low engine revs, water vapour may be visible from the exhaust when accelerating. This has no effect on vehicle performance or the environment.

Manual Transmission

The gearbox requires no
maintenance (no oil change).

Information on the check intervals for this component is given in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.

Automated gearbox

The gearbox requires no
maintenance (no oil change).

Information on the check intervals for this component is given in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.

Automatic Transmission

The gearbox requires no
maintenance (no oil change).

Information on the check intervals for this component is given in the manufacturer's maintenance schedule.

Brake pads

Brake pad wear depends on driving style, particularly for vehicles used in town on short journeys. An inspection may be necessary even between scheduled services.

A drop in brake fluid level indicates not only a leak but may also point to brake pad wear.

Brake disc wear

All information on checking brake disc wear is available at an authorised Dacia dealer or specialist workshop.

After washing the vehicle, or in damp or winter conditions, the brake discs and pads may frost over, which can reduce braking efficiency. Brake gently several times to dry and defrost the brakes.

Parking brake

Excessive parking brake travel or reduced effectiveness of the system requires adjustment, even between scheduled services.

This system must be checked at an authorised Dacia dealer or specialist workshop.

Use only products recommended by Dacia or products of similar quality and technical specification. To optimise the performance of critical components such as the braking system, Dacia selects and recommends specific products.
