Warning lamps

Visual signals inform the driver that a system has been switched on (operation or deactivation lamps) or that a fault has occurred (warning lamp).

After switching on the ignition

Some warning lamps light up for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on.

After starting the engine, these lamps should go out.

If they stay on, check the meaning of the warning before setting off. The front passenger airbag system indicator lamp lights for about one minute after switching on the ignition, even after the engine has started.

Related warnings

The illumination of some warning lamps may be accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multifunction display.

A warning lamp may light continuously or flash. Some warning lamps may have two signalling modes. Only by relating the lamp signal to the vehicle's operating condition can you tell whether the situation is normal or a fault has occurred.
