With the ignition on,
if this warning light comes on, together with an audible signal and a warning message on the display, it indicates a gearbox fault.

In this case the gearbox switches to limp-home mode and locks in 3rd gear. For this reason a jolt may be felt when shifting from P to R and from N to R. The jolt does not endanger the gearbox.

Do not exceed 100 km/h and observe applicable regulations.

Contact an authorised CITROËN dealer or a specialist workshop as soon as possible.

Risk of damage to the gearbox:
  • if the accelerator and brake pedals are pressed at the same time,
  • in case of forced shifting - in the event of a battery failure - of the selector lever from position P to another position.
To reduce fuel consumption during a prolonged stop with the engine running (in a traffic jam...), set the selector lever to N and apply the parking brake.
