Maintenance and care

Using the vehicle under severe operating conditions

~1min read

If the vehicle is used mainly under one of the following very severe conditions:

  • Towing trailers or caravans;
  • Dusty roads;
  • Repeated short trips (under 7-8 km) with outside temperatures below zero;
  • Engine running at low speeds or long journeys at low speed (e.g. taxi or door-to-door delivery) or after prolonged standstill;
  • City driving;

the following checks must be carried out more frequently than specified in the scheduled maintenance plan:

  • Check condition/wear of the front disc brake pads;
  • Check the cleanliness of the bonnet and luggage compartment locks; clean and lubricate the levers;
  • Visual check of the condition of: engine, gearbox, drivetrain, pipes (exhaust - fuel supply - brakes), rubber components (caps - sleeves - bushings, etc.);
  • Check the state of charge and electrolyte level of the battery (only by qualified personnel or at the Fiat Service Network - see also the description in the "Battery" section of this chapter);
  • Visual check of the condition of the drive belt for the ancillary components;
  • Check and replace the pollen filter if necessary;
  • Check and replace the air filter if necessary.
