Wheels and tyres
Every two weeks and before long trips, check the inflation pressure of every tyre, including the spare wheel. This check must be carried out on cold tyres, after the vehicle has been parked for a while.
An increase in inflation pressure while driving is normal. The correct tyre pressure values can be found in the "Wheels" section of the "Technical Specifications" chapter.
Incorrect inflation pressure causes uneven tyre wear, Fig. 13:
- Recommended tyre pressure: even wear on the tread edges.
- Tyre pressure too low: increased wear on the tread edges.
- Tyre pressure too high: increased wear in the centre of the tread.
Replace the tyres as soon as the tread depth is only 1.6 mm. In any case, observe the regulations of the country in which you are driving.

Notes
- Avoid heavy braking, kerb-start maneuvers and hard impacts against kerbs, potholes or obstacles of any kind.
Long journeys on poor roads can cause damage to the tyres;
- Regularly check the tyres for cuts in the sidewalls, bulges or irregular wear. If necessary, contact the FIAT service network;
- Avoid driving with an overloaded vehicle: this can cause serious damage to the wheels and tyres;
- In the event of a puncture, stop immediately and change the wheel, to avoid damaging the tyre, the rim, the suspension and the steering;
- Tyres age even when they are used little. Cracks in the tread rubber or in the sidewalls are signs of ageing. Tyres that have been fitted to the vehicle for more than 6 years must in any case be checked for serviceability by a specialist. Do not forget to check the spare wheel with particular care as well;
- When changing tyres, fit only new tyres and avoid those whose origin is uncertain;
- When fitting a new tyre, the valve should also be replaced;
- For even tyre wear on the front and rear axles, we recommend changing the tyres every 10,000–15,000 km, keeping each tyre on the same side of the vehicle so that the direction of rotation is not changed.
NoteRemember that the handling of the vehicle also depends on the correct tyre inflation pressure.
NoteToo low a pressure causes the tyre to overheat, with possible serious damage to the tyre itself.
NoteDo not swap the tyres diagonally, i.e. from the right side of the vehicle to the left and vice versa.
NoteDo not repaint alloy wheels using processes that require temperatures above 150 °C. The mechanical properties of the wheel could be impaired.
