Opening

With mechanical key

For versions fitted with a mechanical key, the boot can be opened from outside the vehicle by inserting and turning the metal insert of the key in the catch on the tailgate handle.

With remote control

(depending on version/market, where fitted)

By pressing the buttonon the remote control unlocks the boot. The direction indicators flash twice as confirmation.

With electric handle (soft touch)

(depending on version/market, where fitted)

For versions fitted with a soft-touch electric handle, the tailgate (when unlocked) can only be opened from outside the vehicle by operating the electric opening handle A, fig. 29, located under the grab handle, until the unlocking click is felt.

The tailgate can also be opened at any time if the vehicle doors are unlocked. To open it, the handle must first have been enabled by opening one of the front doors, or the doors must have been unlocked with the remote control or using the mechanical key.

Emergency opening from inside

Proceed as follows:

• remove the rear head restraints and fold the seats down completely;
• remove the protective cap and release the latch using a screwdriver or the metal insert of the key, fig. 30.

Closing

Pull the grab handle located on the inside of the tailgate.

WARNING Before closing the boot, make sure you have the key, as the boot will lock automatically.
