Closing
Proceed as follows:
- hold the hood up with one hand and, with the other, remove rod C, fig. 27, from seat E, reversing the opening movement, and reinsert it into its retaining clip D;
- lower the hood to about 20 centimetres above the engine compartment, then let it drop and make sure, by trying to lift it, that it is fully closed and not just latched in the safety position. In the latter case, do not press on the hood; lift it again and repeat the procedure.
WARNING Always check that the hood is correctly closed to prevent it from opening while driving.
The following plate is located inside the engine compartment, fig. 28:

22) Raise the hood using both hands. Before raising it, make sure the wiper arms are not raised away from the windscreen, that the vehicle is stationary and that the handbrake is applied.
23) Carry out these operations only with the vehicle stationary.
24) For safety reasons the hood must always be securely closed while driving. Always check that the hood is correctly closed and that the latch is engaged. If while driving you notice that the latch is not fully engaged, stop immediately and close the hood correctly.
