(for versions/markets where provided) When necessary (e.g. when overtaking), fully pressing the accelerator pedal past its limit point causes the system to downshift one or more gears (if engine speed conditions allow), so that sufficient power and torque are produced for the vehicle to accelerate as requested by the driver.

WARNING To avoid increased fuel consumption, use the "Kick-down" function only when overtaking and for rapid acceleration.

CAUTION

35) Avoid resting your hand on the gear lever except when a gear change or AUTO/MANUAL mode selection is required.
