  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
  2. Remove the EOP sensor. Refer to the appropriate section 303-14 Electronic Engine Controls.
  3. If necessary, install the oil pressure adapters on the oil gallery port. Install a commercially available oil pressure gauge.
    • 1. M12x1.5 male to 1/8 NPT female adapter
    • 2. 1/8 NPT male to two 1/8 NPT female tee fittings
    • 3. Commercially available oil pressure gauge.
    • 4. 1/8 NPT male to M12x1.5 female adapter
    • 5. Oil pressure sensor
  4. Connect the EOP sensor electrical connector.
  5. Connect the battery ground cable.
For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
  6. Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
  7. Run the engine at the specified speed and record the gauge reading.
  8. Oil pressure must be within specification. Refer to specification procedure 303-01 for each engine for the acceptable oil pressure range and vehicle-specific requirements.
  9. If the pressure does not meet specification, check the following possible causes:
