| A1 CHECK THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) |
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform a PCM self-test.
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, perform the SCCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?
| Yes |
If PCM diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) were retrieved, GO to the PCM DTC chart. If TR diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) were retrieved, REFER to the appropriate section in Group 307 for procedure information. If SCCM diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B137F:11, B137F:13, B137F:96 or B137F:9E were retrieved, GO to A3. For all other SCCM diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs): REFER to: Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components (211-05 Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components, Diagnosis and Testing). |
|
| A2 CHECK THE STOP LAMP SWITCH (BOO1) AND CRUISE CONTROL CANCEL SWITCH (BOO2) PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PIDS) |
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, view the PCM Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
Do the PID values match the brake pedal position?
|
| A3 CHECK THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH PID PARAMETER IDENTIFICATION (PID) VALUES |
- Using the diagnostic scan tool, view the SCCM Parameter Identifications (PIDs).
- Using the table, press each cruise control switch while monitoring the cruise control switch PID.
| Cruise control switch | PID value |
| Cruise On (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| Cruise Off (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| Resume (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| Cancel (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| SET + (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
| SET - (pressed/released) |
ON OFF |
Do the PID values match the switch position?
| No |
If only one switch does not show the correct PID value, INSTALL a new left steering wheel switch. REFER to: Steering Wheel Multifunction Switch (211-05 Steering Wheel and Column Electrical Components, Removal and Installation). If multiple switches do not display the correct PID value, GO to A4. |
|
| A4 CHECK THE VOLTAGE AT THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCHES |
- Remove the driver air bag.
REFER to: Driver Air Bag (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).
- Disconnect the Left Steering Wheel Switch C2998.
