Each time you switch the system on, it selects the last gap setting you selected.

Following a Vehicle

When a vehicle ahead moves into your lane or a slower vehicle is ahead in the same lane, your vehicle speed is adjusted to maintain the set gap.

Your vehicle maintains a set distance from the vehicle ahead until:

  • The vehicle ahead of you accelerates to a speed above the set speed.
  • The vehicle ahead of you moves out of the lane in which you are driving.
  • You set a new gap distance.

The system applies the brakes to slow your vehicle to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead. The system applies only limited braking. You can override the system using the brake pedal.

If the system determines that its maximum braking level is insufficient, an audible warning sounds, a message appears in the information display and the indicator flashes while the system continues to brake. Take immediate action.
