Driving through water

NOTES

  1. Drive through water only when necessary, not during normal driving.

  2. If water enters the air filter, the engine may be damaged.

In an emergency, the vehicle may drive through water up to a maximum depth of 200 mm and at a speed not exceeding 10 km/h. Take special care when driving through flowing water.

When driving through water, keep the speed low and do not stop the vehicle. After driving through water, and as soon as it is safe to do so:

  • Lightly press the brake pedal and check that the brakes are fully effective.
  • Check that the horn works.
  • Check that the vehicle lights are fully functional.
  • Check the operation of the power steering.
