Operating principles

The system protects against unauthorised opening of the doors and the engine compartment cover. It also protects the audio unit.

Triggering the alarm

Once armed, the alarm is triggered in one of the following ways:

  • If someone opens a door, the boot or the engine compartment cover without a valid key or remote control.
  • If someone removes the audio unit.
  • If the ignition switch is turned to position I, II or III without a valid key.

If the alarm is triggered, the alarm siren sounds for 30 seconds and the hazard warning lights flash for 5 minutes.

Each further attempt to perform any of the above actions will restart the alarm.

Arming the alarm

To arm the alarm, lock the vehicle. See Locks

Automatic alarm arming delay

The 12-second arming delay starts after the engine compartment cover, the boot and all doors have been closed.
