Ford Fusion. Communications Network. Diagnosis and Testing Ford Fusion. Communications Network. Diagnosis and Testing PINPOINT TEST AL: NO POWER TO THE DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC)

For circuit and connector information, refer to Wiring Diagrams Cell 14.

Normal Operation and Fault Symptoms

The diagnostic scan tool connects to the DLC to communicate with the Diag 1 and Diag 2 networks. The GWM acts as a gateway for communication between the Diag 1 and Diag 2 networks and the modules on the HS-CAN1, HS-CAN2, HS-CAN3, HS-CAN4 and MS-CAN. A loss of ground or a poor ground at the DLC may cause network faults when the diagnostic scan tool is connected.
