Insert the tongue into the buckle until a click is heard. If no click is heard, the seat belt has not been fastened correctly.

Make sure the seat belts are stowed properly when not in use and do not protrude from the vehicle when the doors are closed.

Pull the seat belt out from the retractor slowly. It may lock if pulled sharply or if the vehicle is on a slope.

The outboard rear seat belts may lock if the seatback is returned sharply from a folded position to upright. If the seat belt locks, pull back a small section of the webbing to release it.

Press the red button on the buckle to release the seat belt. Hold the tongue and let it retract fully and evenly until it returns to its position.

Using seat belts during pregnancy

Position the seat belt correctly to ensure the safety of the mother and unborn child. Do not use only the upper strap or only the lower strap.

Pregnant women must always wear the seat belt. The lap section of a combined lap and shoulder belt must be positioned low across the hips, under the bump, and worn as snugly as is comfortable. The shoulder section must be positioned to cross the middle of the shoulder and the centre of the chest.
