DANGER

Do not drive through deep or standing water, as there is a risk of losing control of the vehicle.

Note: Driving through standing water can damage the vehicle.

Note: Engine damage may occur if water enters the air filter.

Before crossing standing water, check its depth. Never cross water that is higher than the bottom edge of the front door sill.

When crossing standing water, maintain a low speed and do not stop the vehicle. Traction and braking capability may be reduced. After driving through water, and as soon as it is safe to do so, carry out the following operations:
  • Lightly press the brake pedal to dry the brakes and check that they are working correctly.
  • Check that the horn works correctly.
  • Check that the exterior lights work correctly.
  • Turn the steering wheel to check that the power steering is working correctly.
