Using the lower anchors of the center seating position

To install a child restraint system in the center rear seating position, use the lower anchors as shown in the illustration.
1. To install the child restraint system, follow steps 1-5 above.
2. Move the head restraint to the fully lowered position.
3. Pull the cover down to open the anchor.

4. Route the tether strap over the seatback, then attach the tether hook to the tether anchor bracket in the center of the ceiling, making sure the strap is not twisted. Tighten the strap following the child restraint manufacturer's instructions.

For some types of child restraint systems, route the strap over the head restraint, as shown in the illustration.
5. After installing the child restraint system, pull it forward and backward and from side to side to check that it is securely installed in the required position.
The type of child restraint system, and whether it can be used in a specific vehicle, must be confirmed by the manufacturer and checked by the child restraint seller. If you are not completely sure that a particular child restraint system can be used in your vehicle, consult an authorized Honda dealer before purchasing it.
