What You Should Do
Always wear your seat belt and make sure it is positioned correctly and securely fastened.
• Seat belts are designed to distribute the load across the strong parts of the human skeleton. The seat belt straps must cross the hips, pelvic bones, chest and shoulders.
Do not position the seat belt over the abdomen.
• The seat belt must be adjusted so that the straps fit as snugly as possible against the body without compromising comfort. Slack in the straps significantly reduces the protective performance of the seat belt.
• Do not use the seat belt if the straps are twisted.
• Each seat belt is designed for use by only one person at a time; it is dangerous to place the seat belt on a child who is seated on an adult passenger's lap.
