Driver and Passenger Safety

Additional Safety Precautions

~2min read

• Do not carry passengers in the cargo area or on a folded rear seat.

Otherwise, children may be seriously injured in a crash.

• Passengers must not stand on the seats or change seats while the vehicle is moving. An unbelted passenger may be thrown forcibly against interior components or other occupants in a collision or sudden braking, and may also be ejected from the vehicle.

• Do not use the same seat belt to restrain two people at the same time. Otherwise, they may be seriously injured in a crash.

• Do not place any objects between the seat belt and the occupant. Installing non-approved accessories, such as pads to reduce pressure or change the position of the shoulder belt, may reduce the effectiveness of the seat belts and increase the risk of injury to the occupant in a traffic accident.

• Do not place hard or sharp objects between yourself and the front airbag. Carrying hard or sharp objects on your lap, or driving with a pipe or other sharp objects in your mouth, may result in serious injury if the front airbag inflates in a crash.

• Do not place your hands near the airbag locations. Otherwise, you may injure your hands if the airbag inflates.

• Do not attach objects to the airbag covers. Any objects on covers marked "SRS AIRBAG" will interfere with proper airbag operation and may be thrown into the cabin when the airbag inflates, causing injury to occupants.

• Do not mount hard objects on or near the door. When the side airbag or curtain airbag inflates, a cup holder or other hard object located near the door may be thrown into the cabin, causing injury.

• Do not place a hanger or any hard objects on the clothes hook.

Otherwise, you may be injured if the curtain airbag inflates.

• Do not replace or cover the side airbag covers located in the front seatbacks without consulting an authorized Honda dealer. Otherwise, the side airbags may not inflate properly in a collision.
