Malfunction and Limitations of the Function
Malfunction of the Function

When the Safe Exit Warning does not operate properly, the "Check Blind-Spot Safety System" warning message will appear on the cluster and the system will turn off automatically, or otherwise the system will be limited. It is recommended that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Function Disabled

When the rear bumper area around the rear corner radar or sensor is covered by foreign objects such as snow or rain, or when a trailer or carrier is installed, detection performance may decrease and the Safe Exit Warning may be temporarily limited or disabled.
In this case, the Blind-Spot Safety feature is disabled. The "Radar Blocked" warning message will appear on the cluster.
The function will operate normally when such foreign matter or trailer, etc. is removed and the engine is restarted.
If the function does not operate normally after removing the foreign matter, we recommend that the system be inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
- Even if the warning message does not appear on the cluster, the Safe Exit Warning may malfunction.
- The Safe Exit Warning may not operate properly in certain areas (for example, where any object is not detected immediately after the engine is started), or if the sensor is blocked by foreign material immediately after the engine is started.
CAUTION
Turn off the Safe Exit Warning when installing a trailer, vehicle, etc., or remove the trailer, carrier, etc., to use the Safe Exit Warning.
Limitations of the Function
The Safe Exit Warning may not operate normally, or the function may operate unexpectedly, under the following conditions:
- Exiting the vehicle in areas where trees or grass are overgrown
- Exiting the vehicle where the road is wet
- An approaching vehicle is moving very fast or very slowly
WARNING
- The Safe Exit Warning may not operate normally when exposed to strong electromagnetic waves.
- The Safe Exit Warning may not operate for 3 seconds after the vehicle is started, or while the rear corner radar is initializing.
