- When an approaching vehicle from the rear is detected, a warning message will appear on the cluster and a warning sound will be heard.
- Safe Exit Warning will alert the driver when your vehicle speed is below 3 km/h and the speed of an approaching vehicle from behind is above 5 km/h.
WARNING
Observe the following precautions when using the Safe Exit Warning:
- For safety, change the settings after parking the vehicle in a safe location.
- If a warning message or warning sound of another feature is generated, the Safe Exit Warning message may not be displayed and the warning sound may not be generated.
- You may not hear the Safe Exit Warning sound if there is a lot of noise around the vehicle.
- The Safe Exit Warning does not work in all situations and cannot prevent all collisions.
- The Safe Exit Warning may warn the driver late or may not warn the driver depending on road and driving conditions. Always check the surroundings of the vehicle.
- The driver and passengers are responsible for accidents that occur when exiting the vehicle. Always check the surroundings before exiting the vehicle.
- Never intentionally use the Safe Exit Warning. This may result in serious injury or death.
- The Safe Exit Warning does not work if there is a problem with the Blind-Spot Safety system. A Blind-Spot Safety system warning message appears when:
-- The Blind-Spot Safety sensor or the area around the sensor is contaminated or blocked
-- The Blind-Spot Safety system fails to warn passengers or falsely warns passengers
Information
After the engine is turned off, the Safe Exit Warning remains active for approximately 10 minutes, but is turned off immediately if the doors are locked.
