WARNING
Support rod
- After driving, the engine compartment and support rod will be hot. Grasp the support rod at the rubber-wrapped area to prevent burns.
- The support rod must be fully inserted into its holder whenever you inspect the engine compartment. This prevents the hood from falling and possibly injuring you.
Hood Closing
1. Before closing the hood, check the following:
- All caps for the engine compartment must be correctly installed.
- Gloves, rags, or any other flammable material must be removed from the engine compartment.
2. Return the support rod to its clip to prevent it from rattling.
3. Lower the hood halfway (approximately 30 cm from the fully closed position) and press down to securely latch it in place. Then check twice to make sure the hood is securely latched.
If the hood can be lifted slightly, it is not securely latched. Open it again and close it with more force.
WARNING
- Before closing the hood, make sure all obstacles are cleared from around the hood opening.
- Always check twice to make sure the hood is securely latched before driving. Check that the hood open warning lamp or message is not displayed on the instrument cluster. Driving with the hood open may cause a complete loss of visibility, which may result in an accident.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the hood open, as visibility is obstructed, which may lead to an accident, and the hood may fall or be damaged.
