[A]: Charging Pad
A wireless cellular phone charger is located inside the front console.
The system is available when all doors are closed and the ignition switch is in the ACC/ON position.
To charge a cellular phone
The wireless cellular phone charging system only charges Qi-compatible cellular phones. Read the label on the phone case or visit your cellular phone manufacturer's website to check whether your cellular phone supports Qi technology. Wireless charging starts when you place a Qi-compatible cellular phone on the wireless charging pad.
1. Remove other items, including the smart key, from the wireless charging unit. Otherwise, the wireless charging process may be interrupted. Place the cellular phone in the center of the charging pad (
).
2. When charging starts, the charging indicator is displayed on the infotainment system screen. However, depending on the infotainment system screen, the wireless charging icon may not be displayed. Refer to the infotainment system manual for details.
3. You can turn the wireless charging function on or off in the User Settings mode on the instrument cluster. For more information, refer to "LCD Display Modes" in this chapter.
The system warns you with a message on the LCD if the cellular phone is still on the wireless charging unit after the engine is turned off and the front door is opened.
Information
For cellular phones of some manufacturers, the system may not warn you even if the cellular phone is left on the wireless charging unit. This is due to the specific characteristics of the cellular phone and is not a malfunction of the wireless charging system.
NOTICE
- The wireless cellular phone charging system may not support certain cellular phones that have not been tested for compliance with the Qi specification (
). - When placing a cellular phone on the charging pad, position the phone in the center of the pad for optimal charging performance. If your cellular phone is off to the side, charging speed may be reduced and, in some cases, the cellular phone may become hot.
- In some cases, wireless charging may temporarily stop when a remote key or smart key is used, such as when starting the vehicle or locking/unlocking the doors.
- The wireless charging process may temporarily stop when the temperature inside the wireless cellular phone charging system abnormally increases. Stop charging the cellular phone and wait until the temperature drops to a certain level.
- The wireless charging process may temporarily stop when there is any metallic object, such as a coin, between the wireless cellular phone charging system and the cellular phone.
- When charging some cellular phones with a self-protection function, the wireless charging speed may decrease and wireless charging may stop.
- If the cellular phone has a thick cover, wireless charging may not be possible.
- If the cellular phone does not fully contact the charging pad, wireless charging may not work properly.
- Some magnetic items, such as credit cards, phone cards, or train tickets, may be damaged if left with the cellular phone during charging.
- When any cellular phone without wireless charging function or any metallic object is placed on the charging pad, a slight noise may be heard. This faint sound is caused by the vehicle's intelligent compatibility object placed on the charging pad. It does not affect your vehicle or the cellular phone in any way.
Information
If the ignition key is in the LOCK/OFF position, charging also stops.
